DR. HARIRI AND DR. SAID TO SPEAK ON LEBANON

A press conference will be held on Tuesday, July 13, 1982 at 9:30 am in
the Rushmore Room of the Alex Johnson Hotel sponsored by Americans for Peace and Unity in Lebanon. Two Arab-Americans, Dr. Mokhless Al-Hariri and Dr. Mohammed Said will talk about the casualties in Lebanon and about humanitarian efforts which have been organized to help relieve the suffering.

Dr. Al-Hariri is a coordinator for the Americans for Peace group, which has its headquarters in Washington, D.C. He will release information on the various groups new operating and on their specific medical and monetary needs.

Dr. Said recently returned from the Middle East where he had volunteered to treat the wounded in the Lebanese conflict. He will release information about the civilian toll and devastation and offer his personal observations on the use of American-made cluster bombs and chemical weapons which have been used on civilians.

DR. MOHAMMAD SAID
Dr. Said is an American citizen originally from Haifa, Palestine. He has an M.D. and PhD. in Public Health and has practiced medicine for the past eight years in North Dakota, South Dakota and Wyoming.  Dr. Said recently returned from the Middle East where he volunteered his services to treat the wounded of Lebanon. His is a personal account of the civilian suffering and devastation in that country. He observed the medical results of the cluster bombs and chemical warfare used by Israeli forces.  Dr. Said resides in Sundance, Wyoming with his wife and three children.

MOKHLESS AL-HARIRI

A Syrian born, Arab-American, Dr. Mokhless A1-Hariri is a designer, writer photographer, architect and planner. He is the president of The Georgetown Design Group of Washington, D.C., which provides a diversified range of design related services in the fields of: Architecture, Construction Management, Interiors, Commercial Graphics, Photography and the production of cultural events.  Dr. Al-Hariri is well known for his humanistic photo exhibit “Unity and Diversity in the Arab World.” The exhibit opened at the Corcoran Gallery in Washington, D.C. and is being shown all over the United States.

Dr. Al-Hariri has a stong commitment to his Arab cultural heritage and is
actively involved in coordinating relief efforts for Lebanon in Washington.
He will continue his humanitarian appeal this week in North Dakota, Montana and Wyoming under the sponsorship of Americans for Peace and Unity in Lebanon.
